THEME: ‘The work of Le Corbusier: between the exceptional and the universal’
Competition open to amateurs and professionals, from 10 June to 10 July 2026 on Instagram
This competition invites participants to offer a personal perspective on what makes Le Corbusier’s architectural work exceptional and universal today, through his 17 sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
ARTICLE 1 – ORGANISATION AND PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION
The Le Corbusier Foundation and the Association des Sites Le Corbusier, hereinafter referred to as “the Organisers”, are organising a photography competition on Instagram to mark the 10th anniversary of the inscription of Le Corbusier’s Architectural Work, an Outstanding Contribution to the Modern Movement, on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The competition is free to enter and there is no obligation to purchase.
This promotion is not organised, managed or sponsored by Instagram.
ARTICLE 2 – DURATION OF THE COMPETITION
The competition will run from 10 June to 10 July 2026.
ARTICLE 3 – CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
The competition is open to any individual with a valid and public Instagram account, regardless of nationality.
Minors may enter subject to the prior consent of a legal guardian.
Persons directly involved in the organisation and management of the competition are not eligible to enter.
ARTICLE 4 – CATEGORIES
Two categories are available:
‘Amateur’ category
‘Professional’ category
A professional is defined as any person engaged in a paid activity in the field of photography or image-related work.
ARTICLE 5 – HOW TO ENTER
To enter, each participant must:
Post a photograph on their public Instagram account during the duration of the competition
Use the official hashtag: #LeCorbusier10Years
Follow and tag the @fondationlecorbusier account
Include the following in the caption:
the category (amateur or professional)
the name of the site depicted from among the 17 components of Le Corbusier’s architectural work listed as a World Heritage Site (list at the end of the rules)
Each participant is limited to submitting a single photograph.
ARTICLE 6 – CONDITIONS RELATING TO PHOTOGRAPHS
Participants warrant that the photographs:
depict one of the 17 sites comprising Le Corbusier’s architectural work inscribed on the World Heritage List
are original and free of copyright
do not infringe the rights of third parties
comply with applicable legislation, in particular image rights
are not defamatory, violent or contrary to public order
Submitted photographs must be original photographic works created by the participant. Images generated, created or substantially modified, in whole or in part, using generative artificial intelligence tools are prohibited. Only standard photographic processing techniques (cropping, exposure adjustment, contrast, colour balance, noise reduction, etc.) are permitted, provided they do not fundamentally alter the content of the image.
The Organisers reserve the right to exclude any entry that does not comply with these rules.
ARTICLE 7 – JURY AND SELECTION
The photographs will be judged by a jury comprising representatives of the Le Corbusier Foundation, the Association des Sites Le Corbusier and the photographer Richard Pare.
The jury’s decisions are final and may not be contested.
ARTICLE 8 – EVALUATION CRITERIA
Photographs will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
artistic and technical quality
originality of perspective
ability to showcase Le Corbusier’s architectural work
relevance to the competition theme
ARTICLE 9 – SELECTION OF WINNERS
Two winners will be selected:
1 winner in the ‘Amateur’ category
1 winner in the ‘Professional’ category
Special mentions and a selection of photographs may also be chosen by the jury.
ARTICLE 10 – PRIZES
The prizes awarded to the winner of the “Amateur” category are as follows:
- 1 night for 2 people, including breakfast, at the Couvent de la Tourette in Eveux (subject to availability)
- 1 ticket to the Cap Moderne site in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin
- 2 tickets and guided tours of the Maison La Roche and Le Corbusier’s apartment-studio in Paris
- 2 tickets to the ‘Maison de la Culture and Saint-Pierre Church’ site in Firminy
- 3 tickets to the Weissenhof Museum in Stuttgart
The prizes awarded to the winner of the ‘Professional’ category are as follows:
- Permission for a photo shoot (2 hours) at Maison La Roche, Paris
- 1 entry to the Cap Moderne site in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin
- 2 site entries for the ‘Maison de la Culture and Saint-Pierre Church’ in Firminy
- 2 entries to the Weissenhof Museum in Stuttgart
- 2 entries and guided tours of the Maison La Roche and Le Corbusier’s apartment-studio in Paris
Prizes are neither exchangeable nor refundable.
Prizes do not include transport costs, accommodation (unless otherwise stated), meals or any other expenses associated with their use. The services offered are subject to the usual booking conditions and the availability of partner establishments.
Winners will be announced on Instagram at the end of the competition and will then be contacted via private message. Prizes will be sent to the winners by email.
ARTICLE 11 – RIGHTS TO USE PHOTOGRAPHS
By entering the competition, entrants grant the Le Corbusier Foundation and the Association des Sites Le Corbusier a free, non-exclusive licence, for the entire duration of copyright protection, to reproduce, display and distribute their photographs.
This authorisation is granted for the purposes of the Organisers’ communication, outreach and cultural and heritage promotion activities, in their printed and digital media, excluding any commercial use.
The author’s name will be credited in all instances of use.
Le Corbusier’s work is subject to copyright. Any commercial use of photographs of Le Corbusier’s work must be subject to a request to the ADAGP (adagp@adagp.fr).
ARTICLE 12 – PROMOTION OF ENTRIES
The photographs may be featured in the communication materials of the Le Corbusier Foundation and the Association des Sites Le Corbusier.
A selection may, in particular, be published online or incorporated into communication initiatives linked to the anniversary of the inscription.
ARTICLE 13 – PERSONAL DATA
Personal data collected is used solely for the purposes of managing the competition.
Participants have the right to access, rectify and delete their data.
ARTICLE 14 – LIABILITY
The Organisers shall not be held liable in the event of technical issues beyond their control or a malfunction of the Instagram network.
They reserve the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition in the event of force majeure.
ARTICLE 15 – ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Participation in the competition implies full and unconditional acceptance of these rules.
