Starting July 17
To mark the 10th anniversary of the inscription of ‘The Architectural Work of Le Corbusier: An Outstanding Contribution to the Modern Movement’ on the UNESCO World Heritage List, a temporary exhibition will be held in a display window of the Clarté building. Conceived as a journey through nearly a century of history, it will trace the key milestones that have marked this iconic building, from its construction in 1930 to the most recent restorations. A timeline will highlight the decisive periods in its preservation, the threats of demolition it has escaped, and the conservation efforts that led to its international recognition. A temporary commemorative plaque will also be unveiled during a formal ceremony attended by local authorities on 17 July, the date of the exhibition’s opening.
This initiative is part of a collaboration between the Clarté Foundation, the City of Geneva and the State of Geneva. Beyond celebrating this anniversary, the exhibition aims to raise public awareness of the value of Geneva’s architectural heritage and the need to pass it on to future generations.
